CVE-2026-113135

Description

A flaw was found in the Picture-in-Picture component of Google Chrome. This memory corruption vulnerability allows a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox (an isolated security environment) by convincing a user to visit a crafted HTML page.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated with an Important severity impact because an unauthenticated remote attacker could achieve arbitrary code execution within the sandboxed environment upon processing untrusted web content. Although the blast radius is initially constrained by the browser sandbox and successful exploitation requires user interaction to visit a malicious page, the capability to execute arbitrary code remotely without privileges warrants an Important rating rather than Moderate. Chromium is not included or supported in core Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases, being provided solely through community repositories such as Fedora and EPEL.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)

Integrity

Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands

Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.

Availability

Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart

Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.

Other

Technical Impact: Unexpected State

Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
