CVE-2026-113133
Description
A flaw was found in the PlatformIntegration component of chromium-browser. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing a user to load a specially crafted HTML page, triggering memory corruption. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution inside the browser's sandbox environment.
Statement
Red Hat Product Security rates this vulnerability as Important rather than Critical because exploitation is bounded by the browser process sandbox and requires user interaction to load a hostile web page. An unauthenticated remote attacker who successfully exploits this memory corruption flaw can run arbitrary code within the sandboxed renderer, threatening the confidentiality and integrity of active web sessions. In Red Hat ecosystems, Chromium is not shipped as part of core Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases and is maintained only in community repositories such as Fedora and EPEL.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
