CVE-2026-113124
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code within the browser sandbox by convincing a user to visit a crafted web page. The issue is caused by memory corruption in the DataTransfer component.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having Important impact because an attacker can exploit memory corruption flaws remotely to execute arbitrary commands, although execution remains confined to the browser sandbox and requires target interaction. Successful exploitation relies on tricking a user into navigating to a malicious web page. Furthermore, Chromium is not shipped or supported in core Red Hat Enterprise Linux, limiting enterprise exposure to community-supported Fedora and EPEL environments.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
