CVE-2026-113100
Description
A flaw was found in the Chromium browser's Audio component. A remote attacker could achieve arbitrary code execution inside the browser's restricted sandbox environment by enticing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML page. The issue stems from a memory corruption vulnerability during audio processing, potentially compromising the integrity of the browser process.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important severity because remote attackers can achieve code execution within the application's sandboxed environment when a user navigates to malicious web content. Although execution remains confined by sandbox protections and requires user interaction, the potential impact on browser process integrity justifies an Important rating over Moderate. Chromium is packaged exclusively in Fedora and Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL), and is not included in supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux products.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
