CVE-2026-113090
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A remote attacker could execute arbitrary code within the browser sandbox by tricking a user into visiting a crafted HTML page. This issue is caused by a memory corruption vulnerability within the Interstitials component.
Statement
This flaw is rated as Important severity because successful exploitation permits remote code execution with the permissions of the logged-in user upon rendering hostile web content, even though execution is confined to the browser sandbox rather than compromising the host directly. In Red Hat enterprise environments, Chromium is not packaged in supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux base repositories, limiting exposure primarily to community repositories such as EPEL and Fedora. Triggering the vulnerability requires explicit user interaction to visit an attacker-controlled site.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
