CVE-2026-113048
Description
A flaw was found in the DevTools component of Chromium. This memory corruption vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the browser's sandbox environment by convincing a user to open a crafted HTML page.
Statement
This flaw is rated with an Important impact because successful exploitation permits arbitrary code execution within the sandboxed environment when a user processes malicious web content. While exploitation requires user interaction and code execution remains restricted by sandbox controls, the potential compromise of the renderer process presents a substantial risk. Chromium is not included in supported Red Hat Enterprise Linux releases and is distributed exclusively through community repositories such as EPEL and Fedora.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
