CVE-2026-113004
Description
A flaw was found in chromium-browser. A memory corruption vulnerability in the Sync component allows a remote attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution inside the browser's restricted security environment (sandbox). An attacker can exploit this issue by enticing a user to visit a specially crafted HTML page.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as Important because remote attackers can achieve code execution inside the renderer sandbox by tricking a user into navigating to a malicious web page, creating a foundation for potential sandbox escapes or session data compromise. Within Red Hat ecosystems, Chromium is not shipped as part of core Red Hat Enterprise Linux and is only distributed through community repositories such as EPEL and Fedora. Furthermore, successful exploitation requires user interaction to load a hostile web resource, limiting the risk to active interactive browsing sessions.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Integrity
Technical Impact: Modify Memory; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Write operations could cause memory corruption. In some cases, an adversary can modify control data such as return addresses in order to execute unexpected code.
Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Crash, Exit, or Restart
Attempting to access out-of-range, invalid, or unauthorized memory could cause the product to crash.
Other
Technical Impact: Unexpected State
Subsequent write operations can produce undefined or unexpected results.
