CVE-2026-109402

Description

A flaw was found in Conductor. A remote authenticated attacker can manipulate the mcpServer parameter within the Model Context Protocol (MCP) Service to trigger Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF). This issue allows the server to be coerced into making unauthorized network requests to internal or external systems, potentially exposing sensitive information or internal network infrastructure.

Statement

Red Hat has evaluated this vulnerability as Moderate severity because exploitation requires authenticated access and its scope is constrained to unauthorized outbound HTTP requests, preventing direct code execution or complete system takeover. Conductor is not shipped or supported in Red Hat Enterprise Linux or other core Red Hat product offerings. Consequently, default Red Hat deployments are not exposed to this flaw unless third-party Conductor instances integrating Model Context Protocol services are deployed.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)

Confidentiality

Technical Impact: Read Application Data

Integrity

Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands

Access Control

Technical Impact: Bypass Protection Mechanism

By providing URLs to unexpected hosts or ports, attackers can make it appear that the server is sending the request, possibly bypassing access controls such as firewalls that prevent the attackers from accessing the URLs directly. The server can be used as a proxy to conduct port scanning of hosts in internal networks, use other URLs such as that can access documents on the system (using file://), or use other protocols such as gopher:// or tftp://, which may provide greater control over the contents of requests.
