개요
A flaw was found in vLLM. This vulnerability allows an authenticated remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by uploading a crafted Immersive Audio Model and Formats (IAMF) audio file to the transcription endpoint. Because input data is passed to the underlying media processing library without sufficient validation, processing the malformed file triggers a heap buffer overflow that crashes the API service.

This vulnerability is rated as Moderate severity for Red Hat products because, while an authenticated remote attacker can terminate the model serving process by inducing heap memory corruption, the impact is confined to a denial of service without compromising confidentiality or integrity. In Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI and OpenShift AI deployments, exposure is limited to instances serving speech-to-text models that actively expose the audio transcription API endpoint. Environments that do not expose the transcription API or only serve text and vision models are not affected by this parsing flaw.
