CVE-2026-108735
Description
A flaw was found in Miniflux. This vulnerability allows an authenticated attacker to perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF)—a technique that forces a server to make unauthorized network requests—by specifying an internal address in a feed's proxy URL setting. By bypassing private network access controls, an attacker can probe internal ports and send requests to internal services that should not be exposed.
Statement
This vulnerability is rated as having Moderate impact because exploitation requires authenticated privileges and is restricted to probing internal network endpoints or issuing proxy requests without direct remote code execution or data modification. Miniflux is not packaged or distributed across Red Hat Enterprise Linux or any other Red Hat product lines. As a result, default enterprise installations and supported product offerings are not exposed to this issue.
Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Confidentiality
Technical Impact: Read Application Data
Integrity
Technical Impact: Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands
Access Control
Technical Impact: Bypass Protection Mechanism
By providing URLs to unexpected hosts or ports, attackers can make it appear that the server is sending the request, possibly bypassing access controls such as firewalls that prevent the attackers from accessing the URLs directly. The server can be used as a proxy to conduct port scanning of hosts in internal networks, use other URLs such as that can access documents on the system (using file://), or use other protocols such as gopher:// or tftp://, which may provide greater control over the contents of requests.
