CVE-2026-107725

Description

A flaw was found in Hazelcast. Due to missing authorization checks within the IMap Predicates application programming interface (API), an authenticated client with limited privileges can bypass access controls. This vulnerability allows an attacker to achieve arbitrary code execution on a cluster member, compromising the affected system.

Statement

Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Important because a client with limited privileges and network access to a vulnerable Hazelcast cluster member can execute arbitrary code without additional user interaction. Successful exploitation can compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of resources accessible to the Hazelcast process. The requirement for an authenticated client with existing privileges distinguishes this issue from unauthenticated remote code execution that would warrant a Critical rating.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Technical Impact: Gain Privileges or Assume Identity; Read Application Data; Modify Application Data; Execute Unauthorized Code or Commands; Other

Exposing critical functionality essentially provides an attacker with the privilege level of the exposed functionality. This could result in the modification or exposure of sensitive data or possibly even execution of arbitrary code.
