CVE-2026-107232
Description
A flaw was found in AsyncHttpClient. When an HTTP proxy rejects an HTTPS CONNECT request, the client can incorrectly treat the still-plaintext connection to the proxy as an established tunnel. A subsequent proxy authentication challenge or redirect can cause the client to resend the origin request and its Authorization credentials over that connection. A malicious proxy or an attacker able to respond on the client-to-proxy connection may capture Basic credentials; NTLM responses may be cracked or relayed. This issue is fixed in AsyncHttpClient 3.0.12 and 2.16.1.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
