CVE-2026-101806

Description

A flaw was found in mysql-connector-odbc. Under specific conditions, a low-privileged attacker with network access can exploit this vulnerability to compromise database connections. Successful exploitation allows an attacker to gain unauthorized read, modification, or deletion access to sensitive data handled by the connector.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Moderate because successful exploitation requires an attacker to possess existing authenticated privileges under complex execution conditions, and it does not affect availability or compromise the host operating system. In Red Hat enterprise deployments, the mysql-connector-odbc package provides a client-side database driver rather than a persistent network daemon. Consequently, potential impact is limited to applications actively utilizing ODBC connections to interact with MySQL instances where an attacker already holds authorized access.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
