CVE-2026-101762

Description

A flaw was found in the Security: Encryption component of MySQL. This issue may allow an attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and/or availability of MySQL Server depending on the vulnerability details. Refer to the Oracle CPU advisory for component-specific impact.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as having Moderate impact because, while a successful exploit can cause a complete denial of service by terminating or hanging the database daemon, exploitation requires high attack complexity and existing low-privileged authentication credentials. The security flaw is confined to availability without compromising data confidentiality or integrity. Typical Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments isolate database services within private networks or restrict direct access to authorized application tiers, substantially limiting exposure to untrusted parties.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)

Confidentiality

Technical Impact: Read Application Data

The confidentiality of sensitive data may be compromised by the use of a broken or risky cryptographic algorithm.

Integrity

Technical Impact: Modify Application Data

The integrity of sensitive data may be compromised by the use of a broken or risky cryptographic algorithm.

Accountability,Non-Repudiation

Technical Impact: Hide Activities

If the cryptographic algorithm is used to ensure the identity of the source of the data (such as digital signatures), then a broken algorithm will compromise this scheme and the source of the data cannot be proven.
