CVE-2026-101749
Description
A flaw was found in MySQL. A remote attacker with high privileges and network access can exploit this vulnerability in the security encryption component to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). Successful exploitation can lead to a complete hang or repeatable crash of the server, rendering database services unavailable to legitimate users.
Statement
Red Hat has classified this flaw as having a Moderate impact because successful exploitation requires an attacker to possess high administrative privileges over the network, restricting the threat to trusted accounts. Although a privileged user could trigger a denial-of-service condition causing the database service to hang or terminate unexpectedly, the issue does not permit unauthorized data modification or information disclosure. Furthermore, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is not affected by this vulnerability as the affected security encryption code is not present in shipped MySQL packages.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
