CVE-2026-101677

Description

A flaw was found in MySQL Connector/J. An unauthenticated remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by convincing a user to interact with a malicious service across the network. A successful attack can result in unauthorized modification, insertion, or deletion of accessible data.

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as having Moderate impact because successful exploitation requires user interaction and is limited to unauthorized data alteration without compromising confidentiality or system availability. In Red Hat environments, applications embed this JDBC driver within controlled application tiers to communicate with database instances. Because the flaw cannot be leveraged for arbitrary code execution and only impacts a subset of accessible connector records, the risk to typical enterprise deployments is contained.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Technical Impact: Gain Privileges or Assume Identity

Attackers might be able to modify the message and spoof the endpoint by interfering with the data as it crosses the network or by redirecting the connection to a system under their control. If an attacker can spoof the endpoint, they might gain all the privileges that were intended for the original endpoint.
