CVE-2026-101621

Description

A flaw was found in the InnoDB component of MySQL. A high-privileged remote attacker with network access could exploit this vulnerability to cause a Denial of Service (DoS). Successful attacks can result in an unauthorized hang or repeatable crash of the database service.

Statement

Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Moderate impact because triggering the denial of service requires high-level administrative credentials on the MySQL database instance. While an authenticated attacker with elevated privileges can cause the database daemon to crash or hang remotely, the vulnerability cannot be exploited to access confidential information or modify data integrity. In standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux deployments, administrative database privileges are tightly restricted to trusted administrators, significantly reducing the likelihood of unauthorized exploitation.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
