CVE-2026-101615

Description

A flaw was found in the InnoDB component of MySQL. A local attacker with high privileges on the host infrastructure can exploit this vulnerability to cause the database service to hang or repeatedly crash, resulting in a denial of service (DoS).

Statement

This vulnerability is rated as Moderate impact for Red Hat Enterprise Linux because successful exploitation requires local logon access with high administrative privileges. While triggering the flaw within the InnoDB storage engine can cause the MySQL database service to crash or hang, a user with such elevated host permissions already wields substantial administrative capability. Consequently, in standard production environments where interactive host access is strictly restricted, the attack surface is heavily contained.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
