CVE-2025-71307
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's drm/panthor component. This vulnerability, a NULL pointer dereference, occurs during the firmware unplug process when the Microcontroller Unit (MCU) is in an unexpected state or its firmware is not initialized. This can lead to system instability or a denial of service (DoS), potentially allowing a local attacker to disrupt system operations.

If the uninitialized pointer references a memory location that is not accessible to the product, or points to a location that is "malformed" (such as NULL) or larger than expected by a read or write operation, then a crash may occur.

If the uninitialized pointer is used in a function call, or points to unexpected data in a write operation, then code execution may be possible.
