CVE-2025-40326
Description
A denial of service vulnerability was found in the NFS server (NFSD) in the Linux kernel. The server lacks handlers for the new time_deleg FATTR4 attributes introduced in RFC 9754. If a client sends a GETATTR request for these attributes, NFSD crashes instead of returning an appropriate error.
Statement
NFSv4 clients should not send GETATTR for these attributes per the specification, so only malicious or non-compliant clients would trigger this. The fix returns nfserr_inval for such requests.
