CVE-2025-38372

Description

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) subsystem, specifically within the mlx5 driver's implicit On-Demand Paging (ODP) handling. A local user could exploit this vulnerability due to unsafe access to xarray data structures, where __xa_store() and __xa_erase() functions were used without proper locking. This improper handling can lead to a lockdep warning and unsafe Read-Copy Update (RCU) usage, potentially resulting in a denial of service (DoS) for the system.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
