CVE-2024-6839

Description

A flaw was found inflask-cors. This vulnerability allows unauthorized cross-origin access to sensitive data or functionality via improper regex path matching, prioritizing longer patterns over more specific ones. This issue leads to less restrictive CORS policies being applied to sensitive endpoints.

An attacker may be able to traverse the file system to unintended locations and read or overwrite the contents of unexpected files. If the files are used for a security mechanism than an attacker may be able to bypass the mechanism.
