CVE-2024-50222
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. A local user could trigger a denial of service by exploiting an issue within the iov_iter component, specifically related to the copy_page_from_iter_atomic() function when CONFIG_DEBUG_KMAP_LOCAL_FORCE_MAP is enabled with high memory and huge tmpfs. This could lead to the system hanging, causing a denial of service.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
