CVE-2024-44994
Description
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's input/output memory management unit (iommu) component. A missing return statement in the iommu_report_device_fault() function can lead to incorrect fault processing when a partial fault occurs. This issue can be triggered by a local attacker, potentially causing the system to crash and resulting in a denial of service.
Mitigation
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
