CVE-2024-42110

Description

A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel in the ntb_netdev_rx_handler() function which calls the function __netif_rx(), which can only be called from interrupt context, in a preemptible context. This vulnerability can lead to potential race conditions and system instability.

Statement

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 is not affected by this vulnerability as the upstream commit that introduced this vulnerability was never incorporated into the versions or configurations of the Linux kernel used in its distributions.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
