CVE-2024-41021

Description

A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel in the function do_fault_error() where it is possible for a VM_FAULT_HWPOISON memory fault to appear in combination with PTE_MARKER_POISONED, even though the s390 architecture does not support HWPOISON. This can result in improper memory management and lead to crashes or kernel panics.

Mitigation

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
