CVE-2023-54322

Description

A stack trace handling issue was found in ARM64 kernels. Without CONFIG_FUNCTION_GRAPH_TRACER, the IRQ entry function is not properly marked, causing filter_irq_stacks() to fail and potentially causing stack depot overflow warnings under KASAN.

Statement

This primarily affects ARM64 systems running KASAN with heavy interrupt load. The issue causes stack traces to be unnecessarily long, potentially filling the stack depot. Normal operation without KASAN is unaffected.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
