CVE-2023-54283

Description

A data race was found in the BPF LRU list implementation. Concurrent access to node->ref without proper memory barriers triggers KCSAN warnings, though the race is benign as the reference value does not need to be precise.

Statement

This is a benign data race reported by KCSAN (Kernel Concurrency Sanitizer). The fix improves code correctness by using READ_ONCE/WRITE_ONCE but the original behavior was functionally acceptable for this use case.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
