CVE-2023-54079
Description
A flaw was found in the bq27xxx battery driver within the Linux kernel. This vulnerability involves a race condition and incorrect handling of the poll_interval during the driver's removal process. A local attacker with low privileges could exploit this flaw, causing the poll_interval to change unexpectedly and a delayed work item to be re-queued even after the device has been removed. This could lead to system instability or a denial of service.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
