CVE-2023-26483

Description

A flaw was found in the gosaml2 package library. This issue may allow attackers to craft a deflate-compressed request, which will consume significantly more memory during processing than the size of the original request. This may eventually lead to memory exhaustion and the process being killed.

Mitigation

The maximum compression ratio achievable with deflate is 1032:1. By limiting the size of bodies passed to gosaml2, limiting the rate and concurrency of calls, and ensuring that lots of memory is available to the process, it may be possible to help Go's garbage collector "keep up".

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
