CVE-2022-49813

Description

From CVE.org

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: ena: Fix error handling in ena_init() The ena_init() won't destroy workqueue created by create_singlethread_workqueue() when pci_register_driver() failed. Call destroy_workqueue() when pci_register_driver() failed to prevent the resource leak.

Statement

The patch fixes a resource leak in the ena_init() function by ensuring that the workqueue is destroyed if pci_register_driver() fails. The issue can only occur during driver initialization under specific error conditions and does not result in memory corruption or system crash. Privileges Required: Low — typically requires root to load kernel modules, but no elevated control beyond that.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
