CVE-2022-3697
Description
A flaw was found in Ansible in the amazon.aws collection when using the tower_callback parameter from the amazon.aws.ec2_instance module. This flaw allows an attacker to take advantage of this issue as the module is handling the parameter insecurely, leading to the password leaking in the logs.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Red Hat CVSS v3 Score Explanation
For the amazon.aws collection it is required to set the non default options in order to leak data by triggering this vulnerability. Privileges required are needed as at least the system should allow the user to run playbooks within the system. For these reasons, it is why we consider Privilege Required as Low instead of None.
