CVE-2022-2989

Description

An incorrect handling of the supplementary groups in the Podman container engine might lead to the sensitive information disclosure or possible data modification if an attacker has direct access to the affected container where supplementary groups are used to set access permissions and is able to execute a binary code in that container.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

Red Hat CVSS v3 Score Explanation

C:L, I:L, because - there is some loss of confidentiality. Access and modification to some restricted information is obtained, but the attacker could not have control over what information could be obtained and modified. The amount or kind of loss is limited. The information disclosure and modification could not cause a direct, serious loss to the impacted component.
