CVE-2021-47551

Description

A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel where, in an SR-IOV configuration, if a reset operation fails to bring the asic back to a normal state but the cpsch has already been stopped, the driver may never reach a point where the start_cpsch is called again to resume normal GPU operations. This could lead to an uninitialized state when the reset is retriggered, causing system instability or crashes.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
