CVE-2021-44857

Description

A flaw was found in mediawiki. The "mcrundo" and "mcrrestore" actions (action=mcrundo and action=mcrrestore) did not properly check for editing permissions and allowed an attacker to take the content of any arbitrary revision and save it on any page of their choosing. This affects both public wikis and public pages on private wikis.

Statement

The mediawiki package was removed from OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in version 4.3, therefore for OCP 4 has been marked as out of support scope.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
