CVE-2020-27760
Description
In GammaImage() of /MagickCore/enhance.c, depending on the gamma value, it is possible to trigger a divide-by-zero condition when a crafted input file is processed by ImageMagick. The patch uses the PerceptibleReciprocal() to prevent the divide-by-zero from occurring. This issue could lead to an impact on application availability.
Statement
This flaw is out of support scope for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6, and 7. Inkscape is not affected because it no longer uses a bundled ImageMagick in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. For more information regarding support scopes, please see https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata .
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
