Description

An issue was discovered in Dovecot before 2.3.13. By using IMAP IDLE, an authenticated attacker can trigger unhibernation via attacker-controlled parameters, leading to access to other users' email messages (and path disclosure).
Mitigation
To mitigate this flaw, ensure that imap_hibernate_timeout is set to 0 or not set at all/commented out in both /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf or /etc/dovecot/conf.d/20-imap.conf.

Red Hat Product Security has set AC:H because IMAP hibernation must be enabled, which is disabled by default AND the attacker must have server access credentials. Additionally, the semantics of this flaw do not threaten system availability so we set A:N. It's true that an attacker with server access credentials probably could threaten availability of the server, but that fact is orthogonal to this flaw at hand.
