CVE-2019-25766
Description
A flaw was found in Renovate. During certain Go Modules update failure scenarios, temporary repository tokens are inadvertently leaked into pull request comments. A remote attacker able to view these comments could obtain the exposed tokens, leading to unauthorized access to repositories. This vulnerability results in sensitive information disclosure.
Statement
This vulnerability is assessed as an Important severity risk because exposed authentication credentials allow anyone with read access to pull request discussions to gain unauthorized access to code repositories. In Red Hat environments, automated dependency tooling such as Konflux Mintmaker runs Renovate in containerized pipelines where exposure is limited to repositories configured for Go dependency automation. Supported Red Hat distributions and pipeline images do not ship with the vulnerable versions in their release streams, significantly limiting the operational blast radius.
