CVE-2019-17177
Description
From CVE.org
libfreerdp/codec/region.c in FreeRDP through 1.1.x and 2.x through 2.0.0-rc4 has memory leaks because a supplied realloc pointer (i.e., the first argument to realloc) is also used for a realloc return value.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).
The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.

Red Hat CVSS v3 Score Explanation
Red Hat Enterprise Linux freerdp packages are client only, so the attack vector would most likely be a trusting client connecting to a malicious server, which could then, potentially, cause the client to never free previously allocated memory. However, the vulnerable part doesn't lend itself to easy exploitation and a malicious server could probably use other means to achieve a comparable outcome. Thus, the access complexity has been set to 'high'. As full termination by the kernel out-of-memory killer would be the worst theoretical outcome, the availability impact is set to 'high'. However, setting it to 'low' would bring the CVSS score down to a 3.7, which would be a better reflection of the expected real world impact of this issue.

Availability
Technical Impact: DoS: Resource Consumption (Other); DoS: Resource Consumption (Memory); DoS: Resource Consumption (CPU)
An attacker that can influence the allocation of resources that are not properly released could deplete the available resource pool and prevent all other processes from accessing the same type of resource. Frequently-affected resources include memory, CPU, disk space, power or battery, etc.
