CVE-2019-15847
Description
From CVE.org
The POWER9 backend in GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) before version 10 could optimize multiple calls of the __builtin_darn intrinsic into a single call, thus reducing the entropy of the random number generator. This occurred because a volatile operation was not specified. For example, within a single execution of a program, the output of every __builtin_darn() call may be the same.
Statement
As per upstream DARN (or power9) is not supported in GCC 6 or older, therefore versions of gcc shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6 and 7 are not affected by this flaw.
Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details
Info alert:Important note
CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

Understanding the Weakness (CWE)
Access Control,Other
Technical Impact: Bypass Protection Mechanism; Other
An attacker could guess the random numbers generated and could gain unauthorized access to a system if the random numbers are used for authentication and authorization.
