CVE-2014-8709
Description
An information leak flaw was found in the Linux kernel's IEEE 802.11 wireless networking implementation. When software encryption was used, a remote attacker could use this flaw to leak up to 8 bytes of plaintext.
Statement
This issue did not affect the version of the kernel package as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise MRG 2.
This issue affects the versions of Linux kernel as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 is now in Production 3 Phase of the support and maintenance life cycle. This has been rated as having Low security impact and is not currently planned to be addressed in future updates.
