Description

From CVE.org

The bat_socket_read function in net/batman-adv/icmp_socket.c in the Linux kernel before 3.3 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory corruption) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted batman-adv ICMP packet.

Statement

Not vulnerable. This issue did not affect the Linux kernels as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, 6, and Red Hat Enterprise MRG as they did not include support for the BATMAN (Better Approach To Mobile Ad-hoc Networking) out-of-tree kernel module.

Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) Score Details

Info alert:Important note

CVSS scores for open source components depend on vendor-specific factors (e.g. version or build chain). Therefore, Red Hat's score and impact rating can be different from NVD and other vendors. Red Hat remains the authoritative CVE Naming Authority (CNA) source for its products and services (see Red Hat classifications).

The following CVSS metrics and score provided are preliminary and subject to review.
