The perf subsystem in the kernel package 2.6.32-122.el6.x86_64 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 does not properly handle NMIs, which might allow local users to cause a denial of service (excessive log messages) via unspecified vectors.
Statement
This issue was found to be a duplicate of CVE-2011-2521.
CVE-2011-2521 issue did not affect the versions of Linux kernel as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, 5, and Red Hat Enterprise MRG as they did not backport the upstream commit 41bf498 that introduced the issue.
