|Bugzilla:||648663: CVE-2010-4077 kernel: drivers/char/nozomi.c: reading uninitialized stack memory|
The MITRE CVE dictionary describes this issue as:
The ntty_ioctl_tiocgicount function in drivers/char/nozomi.c in the Linux kernel 22.214.171.124 and earlier does not properly initialize a certain structure member, which allows local users to obtain potentially sensitive information from kernel stack memory via a TIOCGICOUNT ioctl call.
This issue did not affect the versions of Linux kernel as shipped with Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 3, 4, and 5 as they did not include support for GlobeTrotter
HSPDA PCMCIA card.
