dropbox installation

I have tried both the regular instructions on the official Dropbox site
and various suggestions on the web peculiar to centos.
Nevertheless, I am not anle to install dropbox.
The command "./dropbox-dist/dropboxd"
gets stuck.
If I press some key, a new line appears
"/usr/bin/nautilus"
On the Dropbox icon, I can read
"Dropbox 2.6.27 Connecting..."

I have a RHEL workstation 6.5.
