server license for workstation possible?

Is it possible to use a server license for a RHEL 6.5 workstation? I renewed my academic licenses recently and it seems that i got the wrong licenses. The old license has worked with server and workstation. Can i "upgrade" a workstation to a server without reinstalling or do i need to buy a new license?
