Improving Satellite performance, fixing bad install-time defaults and other annoyances

Anyone else running 'embedded' gone back to:

• expand SGA
• turn on tablespace auto-extend (tried importing 13,000 packages without it? ;-0 )
• turn on direct and async I/O
• upped Java Heap for Tomcat and installed the Native Libraries (tomcat-native.rpm)
• Fixed the badly written /etc/init.d/oracle script?
• Fixed the disorganized output from /usr/sbin/rhn-satellite?
• Fixed sym-links with screwy destinations

Or am I just off my meds?
