How to set the login screen from Clone to spanning on a dual head system

Just installed Redhat 6.2 on a dual head system.  The OS detected both monitors and defaulted to clone, so

now the login GUI shows up on both screens.  After I log in I can set my screen to span both monitors, but

when I log out I still get two login screens.

Is there a way to configure the auto-detection or do I need to create an xorg.conf file?

I also have another dual head system with a different video card and the screens were configured correctly after

the OS installation.

Anyone know how to tweak the new automated screen configuration?
