RHEL 7.6 - xorg-x11-drv-ati - drivers bug

There is currently a bug in the xorg-x11-drv-ati package, which prevents from using the GUI on machines with an AMD Radeon HD graphics adapter correctly. I was able to find a workaround and want to share it with our community. Download the latest xorg-x11-drv-ati-18.1.0-1.fc29.x86_64.rpm package from the fedora project in which the bug was fixed and install it manually. Reboot the system ... et voilà : graphics are working as expected with a proper screen resolution. Although the fedora ati drivers work without noticeable problems, ABRT may report xorg-x11-server-Xorg crashes.
