run script pre-patch reboot

I don't actually use Satellite myself, that's what the platform guys are for. However I'm hoping to hear from "the horse's mouth" that this can or can't be done.

Is it possible to run a script (for me it would put the server into maintenance mode) before satellite reboots the box for a patch cycle? Services on some of my boxes come up slower than our alert threshold and I don't want to increase that time that services are detected to be down.
